Accessibility

More than one way into an idea.

Mrs. Moreno's Class aims to make learning supports understandable, operable, and useful across different devices and ways of interacting.

What the site currently supports

  • Semantic headings, landmarks, labels, and descriptive control names.
  • Keyboard interaction for learning tools, including visible focus and tab controls.
  • Responsive layouts that reflow for smaller screens and browser zoom.
  • Instructions and feedback that do not depend on color alone.
  • Student-facing explanations, success criteria, vocabulary, and self-checks.
  • Reduced complexity where possible without reducing the learning goal.

Classroom use

No single digital presentation works for every learner. Teachers should preview a support, provide an equivalent format or additional assistance when needed, and follow each student's established accessibility plan.

Known limits

Outside resources, embedded videos, linked digital libraries, and teacher-selected presentations may have accessibility behavior that this site does not control. Some highly visual learning models may also need a teacher's verbal description or an alternate representation.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is treated as part of the content and interaction standard, not a final checklist. New supports should be tested for keyboard use, readable structure, responsive reflow, non-color cues, and meaningful feedback before they are marked ready.
